sunday afternoon at the art museum

If, like me, one of your unfulfilled wishes is to visit New York City's Museum of Modern Art, then let's go this afternoon. This short video contains every painting on display in the painting galleries of the MoMA on April 10, 2010.

Wow, very cool! I love that place but haven't been in maybe - 15 years?

When I was young I promised myself I'd get there at least once every 5 years. So much for resolutions.

Beautiful! Back in the 1980s I was in NYC on a business trip and walked past MoMA, but didn't have time to visit. I wish I had made the time then, since I've never been back.

Just beautiful. I was thrilled to see that "Sleeping Gypsy" was hanging on April 10. In 1980 I had a cheap print of that hanging on my wall. I visited MOMA in the fall for the Picasso Retrospective, and when I wandered beyond the boundaries of the Picasso show, I encountered "my" painting up close and personal. It took my breath away to stand so close to the real thing. I felt the same way about Magritte's "Menaced Assassin." I had published a poem about that painting, and here it was!
