No, Thank YOU, homies. I don't like this one as much as the previous one and I think it's the brushwork of the crow that's the culprit. I probably spent three times as long on this crow while the other one appeared as if I was channeling some corvid deity.

OK, you're closer to the paint, but I have crows flying around all the time and this one seems the real deal.
(And the Guatemalan graphic sets it off!)

Di: I like it better today. And it's good to know that the labouring I did to get the crow to look correct actually paid off.

I really like it as well. I do think the labouring was worth it as the contrast between the realism of the crow really contrasts with the leave and graphics very cool :)

It's really fun watching you develop your oil painting chops and find a way to incorporate your acrylic specialties in oil. It sounds like you're really enjoying oils. Are you using Gessobord? That stuff is great! Now that I'm using Golden Open Acrylics instead of oils, I've also had to switch to canvas panels as the Gessobord didn't work so well with acrylics. The oil paint real bit into the smooth slightly absorbent Gessobord while acrylics just kind of smeared on it, needing more tooth I guess.

More thankyous and Jana: what *is* gessoboard exactly? I'm using wood panels with a couple of layers of gesso I added.

Silver Knight: Thank you!

Christopher: As someone who tends to overcomplicate, I'm finally starting to learn the true value of simplicity. Thanks.
